A Change is in the Wind

Over the next couple weeks I will be moving my blog to Wordpress. Although Blogger is a fantastic place to start, I have found by using Wordpress with my other site that it is much easier to maintain and track my traffic within WP. If you Follow me here, feel free to hop on over to my WP site, it's only one more click.

GDP on AZ Central!

I got an email from a reporter at the AZ Republic several weeks ago concerning this blog. She covers a lot of Glendale news and said she is always looking for "interesting" people to highlight. Lucky me she counts me as an interesting one!

So she saddled up a photographer and we went over to Papa Ed's Ice Cream Shop in downtown Glendale to get some "action" shots of me taking pictures. How meta.

The pictures taken by Deirdre Hamill of me can be seen on the AZCentral's Glendale Slideshow. You can even see a picture that will be coming up in a post here very soon!!!

Here's a sneak peak of me with my trusty little point-and-shoot.

Arizona Theme Day: Water

This is the absolute perfect theme day for the middle of summer. With all the heat cooking eggs on sidewalks, what better way to cool off than our precious water?

Even sitting next to it is a breath of fresh air. That's just what the little family and I did at sunset yesterday at the Westgate City Center. While Bon Jovi crooned over the speakers, the hydromechanics did their work. Not quite like I was in Vegas (not nearly as much neon), but close.

I had to put a pic of Tortilla in there! He loved all the smells; I just wanted him to get used to the water to make bathtime easier.
Don't forget to check out the Water shots for the other AZ cities:

I Love Unusual Cars

I have found that over the years living in Glendale I have found a very high concentration of unusual art cars, from the Pink Dream, the Zebra, and my favorite, my crazy car (before it decided to melt)! It seems there are so many more than any other Phoenix Metro city, and that pleases me. I had seen this wonderful chalkboard car before in downtown, but the driver looked pretty busy, running errands or something, so I didn't want to scare them by running after, arms flailing. But I saw it again yesterday and swooned because I got to see it up close! I only have 2 more months until my car is paid off, and I just might have to have a door painted like this to show my solidarity with this special car.

P.s. if this is your vehicle, please email me. I would love to interview you and take more proper pictures with you and your beloved!

Fourth of July in Cooler Weather

Just wanted to apologize for the lack of dailies-things got a bit hectic at Meander Headquarters. But, the Fourth was fantastic, got to go up to Prescott and hang out with a LOT of my family. Very hometown-y, and really made me want to move up there. Well, the itch is just stronger than ever before.
